Accepting applications for Coordinator – Continuing Education \/ Business and Industry Training<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Summary: <\/strong>Maintain and strengthen existing business and industry customized workforce development and training partnerships, and initiate new contacts to develop long-term partnerships in the defined service area. Identify and develop customized workforce development and continuing education programs and courses by conducting needs assessments. Coordinate the delivery of training courses and programs and monitor quality through systematic course and program review and evaluation. Assist in marketing and budget-related activities and management.

\nDuties & Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Maintain and strengthen existing business and industry customized workforce development and training partnerships. Initiate new contacts to develop long-term partnerships in Gaston and Lincoln counties.<\/li>\n
  2. Schedule and facilitate meetings with existing business and industry clients and potential clients, other community colleges, business and industry consortiums, advisory committees, and related groups in support of business and industry training and continuing education.<\/li>\n
  3. Identify and develop customized workforce development and continuing education courses and programs by conducting needs assessments. Write proposals and manage projects.<\/li>\n
  4. Evaluate effectiveness of customized and other training\/education and modify courses or programs to improve effectiveness.<\/li>\n
  5. Design, develop, and oversee training course and program development, and coordinate the delivery (i.e., logistics) of training courses and programs. Assist with and deliver training as needed.<\/li>\n
  6. Identify, interview, and recommend instructors for hire. Evaluate instructors and provide feedback and coaching as needed. Solve issues between clients and instructors.<\/li>\n
  7. Assist the Vice President and Associate Vice President for Economic and Workforce Development, in collaboration with the College\u2019s marketing and public relations function, to develop and implement a marketing plan for business and industry and continuing education programs.<\/li>\n
  8. Assist in preparing and managing applicable budgets and coordinate activities funded by sources such as Customized Training, Occupational Extension, and self-supporting courses and programs offered through the College’s Continuing Education programs. Monitor the applicable budgets and expenditures, prepare fund proposals and requests as needed, and provide regular project updates as requested.<\/li>\n
  9. Identify potential cost-effective, revenue-producing programs and services that the College could develop and suggest new ideas based on research and data.<\/li>\n
  10. Participate in divisional, departmental, and College-wide meetings and committees, partner with other College departments as needed, and assist with researching, identifying, and writing grant proposals as needed.<\/li>\n
  11. Maintain cooperative working relationship with students, co-workers, other organizations, and the public.<\/li>\n
  12. Follow all policies and procedures of the College and for client locations, with specific attention given to safety-related rules and procedures.<\/li>\n
  13. Perform other related duties incidental to the work herein described.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Minimum Education Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Bachelor\u2019s degree from a regionally accredited institution in business administration, adult education, or a related field required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Minimum Experience Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Three years\u2019 experience coordinating the development and delivery of business and industry, continuing education, or adult education courses and programs required.<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of training\/course design and experience facilitating training courses required.<\/li>\n
      • Must possess the ability to work with minimal supervision but with multiple partners in a team environment and establish credibility and rapport with business clients and College staff.<\/li>\n
      • Must possess the ability to coordinate and follow through on multiple projects and details.<\/li>\n
      • Outstanding communication skills (i.e., listening, writing, and oral) and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.<\/li>\n
