The Toledo Zoo and Aquarium is currently hiring a creative, engaging Graphic Designer to, under limited supervision, create and design digital and print graphics in line with the Toledo Zoo’s communication objectives and goals. Designer will utilize software programs for graphic design and perform hands on painting, drawing, illustrations and other visual arts projects. The Graphic Designer will also create and design print projects and exhibits which involves maintenance of computer hardware and software expertise, production, revisions, text changes, proofing and maintenance. Will also design and layout electronic web creative; Snapchat, GeoFilters, Social Media Images, Storyboards, iPad marketing collateral and utilize various resources for visual arts projects including computer programs, photography, painting, illustrating and digital outputs of all varieties. Design aspects may include; merchandise, signage, guide maps, membership packages, marketing/PR materials, Safari! Magazine, online content such as online ads, banners and emails, exhibit interactives and other components. Will also be responsible for translating design tactics into digital solutions that achieve growth and Zoo awareness goals while supporting and advancing the Zoo’s digital strategy.

For our Graphic Designer position, we prefer a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or related field and two to four years of experience in a graphic or visual arts field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  If requested, applicants must be able to provide a portfolio of previous work/projects for review.
