SUMO Memberships

Documentation


SUMO Memberships is a WooCommerce extension plugin. Using this plugin you can give access for users to buy certain products, view pages and posts only when they have purchased a particular Membership Plan.

1. Login to your codecanyon account
2. Go to Downloads Tab
3. You will find SUMO Memberships
4. Download sumomemberships.zip (
Please note the downloaded files will always be the latest version)
5. Unzip sumomemberships.zip inside which you will find the Plugins files i.e. sumomemberships.zip
6. Install SUMO Memberships i.e. sumomemberships.zip using WordPress Dashboard
7. Activate the Plugin

Please always test the new version in a testing site before you upgrade to the new version in your live site.

If you are using an older version and want to upgrade to the latest version of SUMO Memberships then please do the following steps.

1. Login to your codecanyon account
2. Go to Downloads Tab
3. You will find SUMO Memberships
4. Download sumomemberships.zip (
Please note the downloaded files will always be the latest version)
5. Unzip sumomemberships.zip inside which you will find the Plugins files i.e. sumomemberships.zip
6. Deactivate and Delete the existing version of SUMO Memberships on your site
7. Install the latest version of SUMO Memberships i.e. sumomemberships.zip using WordPress Dashboard
8. Activate the Plugin

Please note you will not lose any settings values, data etc by following the above steps.

Workflow

Product Restriction Settings

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Settings -> General -> Product Restriction Settings

Content Restriction Settings

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Settings -> General -> Content Restriction Settings

Email Settings

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Settings -> Emails

Giving Restriction/Access to Custom Post Types from Other plugins

SUMO Memberships supports all Custom Post Types. When a Custom Post is activated in the Site, Advanced tab will be displayed

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Settings -> Advanced

My Account Page Settings

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Settings -> General -> My Account Page Settings

Creating a Membership plan

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Membership Plans -> Add New Membership Plan

Linking a Membership Plan to the Content in order to Prevent unauthorized access
Available access options
Providing access to specific Membership Plans in Pages

Go to dashboard -> Pages

Providing access to specific Membership Plans in Posts

Go to dashboard -> Posts

Providing access to specific Membership Plans in Products

Go to dashboard -> Products

Linking one plan with another plan

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Membership Plans

Give/Revoke access for Previously purchased members when a Plan is Linked/Unlinked with Another Plan

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Settings -> Content Restriction Settings

Note: The Access will be Give/Revoke only if the plan(s) can be Linked/Unlinked after the above-mentioned settings has been configured

Adding a Member Manually

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Members -> Add Member

Restrict access to URL

Go to dashboard ->SUMO Memberships -> Settings -> URL Restriction by Redirection

Restrict access to Content using shortcode

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Settings -> Content Restriction by Shortcodes

To restrict a block of content, say Platinum plan do the following steps.

Configuring Default Membership Plan

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Settings -> General -> Default Membership Plans

Transferring a Membership Plan

To Approve or Reject the Transfer go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Transfer Requests

How to set Status for provide access for Membership Plans?

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Settings -> General -> Order Status Settings

- Set the status in Membership Plan access will be available when Order Status becomes option

- Save the settings

How to provide Membership Plans for Previous Orders?

Note: The products should be linked with the Membership plan in order to provide the membership plan(s)

Go to dashboard -> SUMO Memberships -> Settings -> Check for Previous Orders

 

 

 

 

SUMO Memberships Plugin is translation ready meaning you can edit the po files by which you can translate the text to any language.

The steps to do the translation are as follows. For eg let us consider translation to French.

  1. Download and install Poedit
  2. Open the file SUMO Memberships -> languages folder -> sumomemberships-fr_FR.po using Poedit.
  3. Choose the Source text and set its corresponding French text in Translation Text Area.
  4. Save the changes.
  5. If you are using WordPress Version 3.9.13 or below, then in wp-config.php define the WPLANG as French. Syntax is define(‘WPLANG’, ‘fr_FR’);
  6. If you are using WordPress Version 4.0 or above, then go to WordPress dashboard -> Settings -> General and select the Site Language as French
SUMO Subscriptions

When a Subscription product is set to provide access to a Membership Plan, then the Membership Plan will be controlled by the Subscription. 

SUMO Reward Points

Reward Points Earning Percentage can be modified for Members who have purchased a specific Membership Plan.

1. When will the User will be able to see the restricted contents?

If the user has purchased a particular Membership Plan and the Order status has been marked as Processing/Completed, user can access the restricted contents.

2. Can I provide a trial for a Membership Plan?

Yes, you can provide Free Trial/Paid Trial for a Membership Plan after installing SUMO Subscriptions plugin.

3. Can I provide a Overdue feature for a Membership Renewal payments?

Yes, you can provide Overdue feature for a Membership Plan after installing SUMO Subscriptions plugin.

4. Can the User Pause their Membership Plan?

Yes, the User can Pause their Membership Plan from their My Account Page.

5. Can the User Cancell their Membership Plan?

Yes, the User can Cancell their Membership Plan if it is a Subscription Membership Plan.
